Following the instructions as outlined below will help you maintain the highest level of performance from your cookware.
Conditioning
Clean and condition your cookware before using for the first time. Wash each piece in warm soapy water, rinse and dry thoroughly. With a soft cloth, wipe the interior of each pan with a teaspoon of vegetable oil. This process needs to be repeated every 2 to 3 months.
Usage
Nylon, wood or plastic utensils are gentle to the interior of the surface of your cookware. Metal or sharp utensils will damage the interior coating of your cookware. Never cut anything in your Kitchen Fair cookware.
Always use low to medium heat. Kitchen Fair cookware locks in heat so well that it is never necessary to use high heat. High heat will damage the non-stick surface. Never place an empty pan on a hot stove.
Cleaning and Storage
It is not recommended to leave food in your cookware for extended periods of time. Storing food in the refrigerator in any type of cookware is not recommended. Particular care should be taken with high acidic foods such as chili, tomato sauce, etc.
After use, allow cookware to cool to room temperature and wash in warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly with water and dry with a soft cloth. Always allow cookware to cool before cleaning. Never put cold water in a hot pan or plunge a hot pan into cold water. Sudden changes of temperature may cause any metal to warp, resulting in an uneven bottom.
Interior: For dried, burned-on foods soak in hot soapy water. To remove water spots or minor stains on the non-stick coating, wipe them with vinegar or lemon juice.
Exterior: For dried, burned-on foods, a gentle powdered cleanser may be used with water on both the exterior aluminum and porcelain enamel surfaces. In addition, plastic scrub pads may be used on exterior aluminum surfaces. DO NOT use plastic scrub pads on the porcelain enamel surfaces. “Metal marks”, which appear silver or grey and can be caused by the rubbing of other aluminum cookware on the porcelain enamel surface, may be removed with a paste made with a gentle powdered cleanser and water.
Automatic dishwashers will dull the polished bands and porcelain coating on your cookware. Kitchen Fair cookware cleans easily without the need to use a dishwasher.
Never reverse the covers when storing. The knobs may damage the non-stick interior. When stacking pans, place a cloth between each piece to help prevent chipping or scratching the surfaces.
